Samsung 3 - Doosan 2, Daegu

Most of the scoring in this game was early, with the score tied at 2-2 from the 5th inning on. It looked like the game may go to extra innings, but first baseman Chae Tae-In came through for the Lions, leading off the bottom of the 9th inning with a walk-off homerun to center field. It was Chae's 4th homerun of the year, his only hit in tonight's game, and his first walk-off homerun of his 7 year KBO career. Doosan reliever Hong Sang-Sam gave up the homerun, earning himself the loss.

Nexen 8 - KIA 2, Seoul (Mokdong)

KIA held the lead with a score of 2-1 until the bottom of the 5th when Nexen shortstop Kang Jung-Ho hit a 3-run homerun to give the Heroes the lead for good. It was one of three homeruns hit tonight by Nexen. The other 2 were solo shots by Hur Do-Hwan and Park Byung-Ho. Nexen leads the league in homeruns so far this season with 46. KIA starting pitcher Yoon Suk Min gave up 8 hits and 5 runs in 5 innings to earn the loss. Yoon, KIA's ace last year, has yet to turn in a convincing performance since returning from injury on May 4. Kim Young-Min was the winning pitcher for Nexen, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings.

LG 7 - Lotte 4, Seoul (Jamsil)

LG scored early and often, going up 6-0 after 4 innings. Lotte scored a couple of late runs, but not enough for the comeback. LG was lead by catcher Yoon Yo-Sup who went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Moon Seon-Jae also hit a homerun for the Twins. Lotte's Shane Youman had a rough start, lasting just 3 1/3 innings while giving up 10 hits, 3 walks, and 6 runs. Ryu Jae-Kuk earned the win for the Twins, pitching 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, and striking out 6 batters. The Twins are now the hottest team in the league, having won 9 of their last 11 games. After tonight's win LG moved past Lotte into 3rd place in the league standings.

SK 12 - Hanwha 3, Incheon

SK gave Hanwha all they could handle in this game. After 7 innings the Wyverns lead 12-0. The Eagles would score a few consolation runs in the 8th and 9th but the game was never in doubt. SK's Baek In-Sik earned the win after giving up 6 hits and zero earned runs in 7 2/3 innings. Kim Hyuk-Min takes the loss for Hanwha after giving up 8 runs in just 2 innings. Hanwha had the week off, but the rest doesn't seem to have done any good for them. The two teams will meet again tomorrow in Incheon.
