SK 5 - Lotte 4, Incheon [Box Score]

Lotte held the lead for most of the game, ahead 3-0 after 6 innings. SK would tie it up in the bottom of the 7th off of 3 doubles and 1 single. But SK handed the lead right back to the Giants, when in the top og the 8th, with 2 outs and the bases loaded, SK reliever Park Hee-Soo beaned Lotte left fielder Lee Seung-Hwa to bring the go-ahead run home. Trailing 3-4, it came down to the bottom of the 9th for SK. Park Jung-Kwon would lead off the inning with a single, and a sacrifice bunt would bring him to second base with one out. Chung Sang-Ho came up next and hit a double to bring Park home and tie the game at 4-4. The next batter, Second baseman Jeong Keun-Woo, hit a walk-off double to left field to end the game.

LG 8 - Samsung 4, Daegu [Box Score]

It was a close game down in Daegu, with LG leading 4-2 heading into the 9th inning. Samsung and LG have arguably the league's two best closers in Oh Seung-Hwan and Bong Jung-Keun, but they both made critical mistakes toward the end of tonight's game. Bong entered the game for LG to pitch the bottom of the 9th, with his team leading by 2 runs. Bong gave up 2 singles and hit a batter to load the bases with one out. Then Bae Yeong-Seop hit a grounder to shortstop. The Twins got the out at second but were unable to convert the double play, bringing the score to 4-3 with 2 outs. Bong then threw a wild pitch, allowing Kim Sang-Su to score from third base, bringing the score to 4-4 and sending the game to extra innings. LG started off the top of the 10th with a quick single and a sacrifice bunt to put a runner on second with 1 out. Oh Seung-Hwan was brought into the game to face Lee Byeong-Kyu. Oh walked him, and then gave up a single to Moon Seon-Jae to load the bases with 1 out. The next batter hit a shallow pop out. There were now 2 outs and it looked like Oh may find his was out of the jam. Son Joo-In came to the plate and hit a grounder between first and second base. First baseman Lee Seung-Yeop dove for it, but missed it, the ball was fielded by second baseman Kim Tae-Wan, but Oh was a little late covering first base. He missed the throw and 2 runs scored for LG on the error charged to the pitcher. The Twins would score 2 more on a single to center field by catcher Hyun Jae-Yun. Samsung came up empty in the bottom half of the inning and the game ended with a score of 8-4. With the win, LG jumped ahead of both KIA and Nexen and now sits in second place for the first since April 13, just 2 games behind Samsung.

LG vs Samsung game highlights

NC 4 - Nexen 1, Seoul (Mokdong) [Box Score]

NC got on the board first, with Kim Jong-Ho scoring from third on a passed ball in the top of the 1st. The Dinos would add 2 more in the top of the 4th to extend the lead to 3-0. The Heroes scored their only run in the bottom of the 6th on an RBI single from pinch hitter Oh Yoon. The NC bullpen shutdown Nexen in the late innings, and the game ended with a final score of 4-1. Son Min-Han earned the win after pitching 7 innings giving up 7 hits and 1 earned run. Nexen's Brandon Knight was stuck with the loss after giving up 6 hits and 2 earned runs in 5 innings. Taking the week off does not seem to have helped the Heroes. Their losing streak now stands at 8 games.

Doosan 7 - Hanwha 2, Seoul (Jamsil) [Box Score]

In a game between two teams that have both looked terrible lately, the good news is that at least one of them has to come out with a win. Tonight that team was Doosan. The difference in the game was the 5th inning. Doosan was trailing 0-2 but came up with a big 5 runs in a 5th inning that included 3 singles and 2 homeruns. Hanwha was finished scoring, and Doosan added 2 more in the bottom of the 6th to give us the final score of 7-2. Dustin Nippert earned the win, allowing 7 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings. Kim Hyuk-Min took the loss for Hanwha, giving up 8 hits including 3 homeruns in 5 2/3 innings.
