Doosan 9 - Samsung 6, Seoul (Jamsil) [Box Score]

Doosan built up a large lead, up 9-1 after 7 innings. Samsung's homerun king Lee Seung-Yeop hit a grand slam in the top of the 8th to make a game out of it, but the Lions could not recover from the big deficit. Doosan was lead by left fielder Kim Hyun-Soo who went 3 for 5 finishing with 2 homeruns, a double, and 5 RBIs. Dustin Nippert got the win for the Bears, going 6 innings while giving up 8 hits and 1 run. The loss went to Samsung starter Bae Young-Soo.

Nexen 12 - LG 10, Seoul (Mokdong) [Box Score]

It was a bit of a wild game in Mokdong tonight. A total of 15 pitchers saw action in a 9-inning game that lasted nearly 4 and a half hours. LG's Lee Byeong-Kyu hit for the cycle, becoming just the 15th player in KBO history to do so. At 38 years old, Lee is also the oldest player to ever accomplish the feat. Lee went 4 for 4 with a single in the 1st, a homerun in the 3rd, a double in the 5th, and a triple in the 7th. The last KBO cycle was Doosan's Lee Jong-Wook on April 11, 2009. Lee's efforts helped the Twins build up a 4 run lead, with LG up 8-4 after 5 innings. But the Nexen Heroes had a lot of offense in them tonight as well.  Moon Woo-Ram went 4 for 5 with 3 singles and a homerun. The homerun was the first of his career. Park Byung-Ho also came through with a huge 2-run homerun in the bottom of the 8th to tie the score at 9-9. With only one out on the board the inning continued. 2 singles and an intentional walk would load the bases for LG closer Bong Jung-Keun. A shallow pop out by Seo Dong-Wook would make 2 outs with the score still tied. Pinch hitter Kim Ji-Soo came to the plate and worked his way to a full count. With the count at 3-2 Bong made a pickoff move to second base. Yu Jae-Sin took off from third base and beat the throw to home putting the Heroes ahead 10-9. Kim would go on to walk, reloading the bases. Oh Yoon came to the plate and hit a single driving in 2 more runs to make the score 12-9 heading into the 9th inning. The Twins could only manage 1 run in the top of the 9th and the game ended with a score of 12-10.
