Samsung 2 - Doosan 1, Daegu

Samsung took the lead with an RBI single by Choi Hyeong-Woo to go up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st. That score would remain until Doosan's Kim Hyun-Soo tied it up with a solo homerun in the top of the 6th. Samsung had a good chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th, loading the bases with just one out, but a foul pop-out to the catcher by Lee Seung-Yeop followed by a strikeout by Jeong Hyeong-Sik would send the game to extra innings. The game ended in the bottom of the 10th when Samsung's Park Han-Yi came to the plate to face Doosan's Hong Sang-Sam with one out. Park hit a walk-off homerun down the left field line. Hong also gave up the game winning homerun last night. I may need to do some research on this one, but I have a good feeling that this is the first time a pitcher has ever given up 2 walk-off homeruns in 2 days. Samsung now leads the series 2-0 with the final game tomorrow in Daegu.

SK 4 - Hanwha 3, Incheon

Most of the scoring occurred early in this game, with the score tied 3-3 after 4 innings. The score remained tied, heading into extra innings. Neither team threatened to score, and it looked like it might end in a tie, but SK came alive in the bottom of the 12th. Catcher Cho In-Sung lead off the inning with a double to right-center. Kim Kang-Min was intentionally walked to put runners on first and second. Right fielder Cho Dong-Hwa came to the plate next and hit a single up the middle allowing pinch runner Park Seung-Wook to score from second base and the game was over. It was the second walk-off of the night after Park Han-Yi's homerun in Daegu. SK leads the series 2-0.

LG 6 - Lotte 0, Seoul (Jamsil)

LG dominated Lotte today. Starting pitcher Radames Liz pitched 7 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks. Reliever Lim Jeong-Woo pitched a perfect final 2 innings, and Lotte finished the game with just 2 hits. Starter Ko Won-Jun took the loss for the Giants after giving up 3 hits, 6 walks, and 3 runs in 5 innings. LG's hot streak continues, having now won 10 of their last 12 games. The final game of the series is scheduled for tomorrow in Jamsil. Ben Jukich, who has struggled a bit lately, will get the start for LG, looking for the series sweep.

KIA 8 - Nexen 6, Seoul (Mokdong)

Nexen took the early lead in this one, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st off of a walk, three singles, and a double. But after KIA starting pitcher Yang Hyeon-Jong settled down the Nexen bats went quiet. KIA would score 4 runs of their own in the top of the 3rd, including a 2-run homerun from right fielder Na Ji-Wan. The Tigers would score 2 more in the 5th, 1 in the 6th, and cap it off with a solo homerun by Choi Hee-Seop in the top of the 8th. Nexen would score a couple of runs in the 8th and 9th, but not enough for a comeback. Yang Hyeon-Jong earns the win, Andy Van Hekken takes the loss, with the save going to Anthony Lerew. The series is now tied 1-1 with the final game tomorrow.
