Doosan got on the board first with an RBI single by Kim Hyun-Soo in the bottom of the 1st to go up 1-0. The Bears would increase their lead to 4-0 by the end of the 5th inning. Samsung would score their only runs on solo homeruns by Kim Sang-Su and Choi Hyeong-Woo late in the game. Doosan's Yu Heui-Kwan pitched 7 1/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 run. to earn himself the win. The loss went to Samsung starter Yoon Sung-Hwan. Doosan has now won 2 games in a row against the first place Lions, while Samsung will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow in the final game of the series.
Hanwha did most of their scoring early in the game, ahead 8-2 after 3 innings of play. Left fielder Choi Jin-Haeng lead the way, going 3 for 4 with a homerun and 3 RBIs. Second baseman Lee Hak-Jun added a homerun in the bottom of the 2nd, the first homerun of his 7-year KBO career. SK would be unable to climb out of the hole they dug for themselves. The win went to Kim Hyuk-Min who allowed 5 hits and 3 runs in 5 2/3 innings. SK's Jo-Jo Reyes had his worst start so far this season, allowing 6 runs in just 2 innings to pick up the loss.
LG held on to a slim lead early on, ahead 3-2 as late as the 6th inning, but Nexen had more in them in the late innings. The Heroes would score 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th off of a walk, 2 doubles, and 2 singles to take the lead at 5-3. One more run was added in the bottom of the 7th to give us the final score of 6-3. Nexen outfielder Moon Woo-Ram followed up his 4 for 5 performance yesterday by going 3 for 4 today with 2 doubles and a single. Moon is batting .714 over the past 3 games. Nexen's Kim Young-Min earned the win while LG's Ryu Jae-Kuk picked up his first loss of the season. Nexen now leads the series 2-0. It is the first time LG has lost 2 games in a row since May 17-18. Their 10-series winning streak will also come to an end, as they try to avoid the sweep tomorrow in Mokdong.
Lotte catcher Kang Min-Ho hit a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 1st, and the Giants would go on to lead 5-1 after 5 innings. KIA, however, did not give up and put together a late game comeback. Lee Bum-Ho hit a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 6th, and the Tigers scored 5 more runs in the bottom of the 7th. KIA starter Yoon Suk-Min earned his first win of the season after allowing 5 runs in 6 innings. The loss went to Lotte reliever Chong Tae-Hyon.
