LG 1 - SK 0, Seoul (Jamsil)

SK starting pitcher Chris Seddon pitched an excellent game, the problem is that he didn’t get any help from his offense. Seddon went the full 9 innings, struck out 11 batters, and gave up 6 hits. It was the last 2 of those hits that turned out to be trouble. With the score tied at 0-0 heading into the bottom of the 9th, LG first baseman Moon Seon-Jae lead off the inning with a single to right-center. The very next batter, Jeong Ui-Yoon, followed up with another hit down the left field line. Moon raced around the bases to score from first, and the game was over. LG closer Bong Jung-Keun was credited with the win.

Hanwha 3 - Samsung 1, Daejeon

Hanwha avoided the series sweep with the help of starting pitcher Dana Eveland. Eveland pitched 8 scoreless innings, striking out 7 batters and allowing 5 hits, earning his long overdue first win of the season. On the offensive side, designated hitter Choi Jin-Haeng lead the way for the Eagles, going 3 for 4 with 1 double, 2 singles, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Samsung scored their only run in the top of the 9th, but they failed to pull off the late game comeback.

Nexen 7 - Lotte 1, Seoul (Mokdong)

Lotte scored first when Kang Min-Ho drove in Son Ah-Seop with a single in the top of the 1st to take the lead at 1-0. Unfortunately for Lotte, it would be the only run they would score today. Nexen answered quickly by scoring two runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st, and quite possible could have scored more if not for a bizarre play that caused the third out of the inning. Right fielder Oh Yoon came to the plate with runners at first and second and two outs. Oh hit a single up the middle, and Kang Jung-Ho attempted to score from second base. He beat the throw to home, but he was called out after leaving the playing field, with the umpire claiming that he never touched the plate. Watching the replay, it appears that he may have stepped on Lotte catcher Kang Min-Ho’s foot, rather than the plate itself. In the top of the 3rd, Lotte left fielder Kim Moon-Ho suffered an injury on a play at first base and had to be taken off the field in an ambulance, read more here. Nexen went on to score five more runs, and the game ended with a score of 7-1.

KIA 7 - NC 4, Gwangju

NC took the early lead with an RBI single by Ji Seok-Hoon in the top of the 1st, but KIA came back with a huge 4th inning, scoring five runs off of 2 doubles, a single, 3 walks, and an error. KIA held the lead until the end of the game, with a final score of 7-4. Starter Yang Hyeon-Jong was credited with the win, with the save going to closer Anthony Lerew for KIA.

One additional note, accross the league there weren't any homeruns hit today. It's the first day we've seen this season without a homerun.
