Nexen 4 - SK 6, Incheon [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

Nexen started strong again today with center fielder Lee Taek-Keun's 2-run homerun in the top of the 1st to take an early 2-0 lead. SK would manage to work there way back into the game, going up 3-2 following a homerun from catcher Cho In-Sung in the 4th. The game was finally decided in the 8th inning. The Heroes manage 2 runs off of 4 straight singles in the top half to regain the lead at 4-3, but the Wyverns answered right back with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Cho In-Sung hit a 2-RBI single, and finished the day with a total of 4 RBIs for the Wyverns.

LG 14 - Doosan 4, Seoul (Jamsil) [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

LG got some revenge for yesterday's loss with a complete blowout of Doosan today. The Twins scored a total of 14 runs, and half of those in a 5th inning that included a grand slam from right fielder Lee Jin-Young. LG rookie starting pitcher Lim Ji-Sub got the win going 5 innings while allowing 3 hits and 1 run. Lim is 19 years old and graduated from high school a month ago. He became just the 4th pitcher in KBO history to get a win in his first start after joining the league directly from high school. Starter No Kyeong-Eun takes the loss for Doosan after giving up 6 hits, 5 walks, and 6 runs in 4 innings.

KIA 5 - Samsung 8, Daegu [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

Samsung took an early lead when Yamaico Navarro hit a 2-run homerun in the bottom of the 1st, but KIA came back to go up 3-2 in a 3rd inning that included 3 walks and 2 singles. The lead didn't last long however, as Samsung scored 4 runs in the 4th to go ahead for good. American first baseman Brett Pill made his first start for the Tigers after sitting on the bench yesterday. Pill struck out on 3 pitches in his first at bat, but made up for it with a homerun in 6th inning. Pill's efforts would not be enough though, as Samsung wins 8-5.

Hanhwa 4 - Lotte 2, Busan [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

Hanwha got the win against the Giants today, and, with all other teams splitting their opening series, sits in first place at the top of the league standings. Perenial cellar dweallar Hanwha has not won their opening game in 5 seasons, and last year started the season with a 13-game losing streak. While it's only a single game, this should prove to be a big confidence boost to the team. Hanwha took the lead in the top of the 2nd on a 2-RBI single from center fielder Felix Pie, and the Eagles never trailed. Starting pitcher Caleb Clay went 5⅔ innings allowing 5 hits, 2 walks, and 2 runs for the win. Lotte's Song Seung-Jun took the loss after giving up 8 hits, 3 walks, and 3 runs in 5 innings. The two teams will meet again Monday night to make up yesterday's rainout.
