Nexen 3 - Samsung 1, Seoul (Mokdong)

This week's series is the battle for first place, with both teams tied for the league lead heading into tonights game. Samsung had 9 hits for the night, nearly double Nexen's total of 5. The problem is that 8 of those 9 hits were singles, and they were pretty evenly spread through the game. The Heroes, on the other hand, managed to make 2 of their hits homeruns. All of Nexen's runs came off of homeruns, with Kang Jung-Ho hitting a solo shot in the bottom of the 2nd, and Park Byung-Ho hitting a 2-run homerun in the bottom of the 3rd. Samsung scored their only run in the top of the 3rd on an RBI single by Jeong Hyeong-Sik. Neither team would score in the final 6 innings. Brandon Knight earned the win for Nexen, while Aneury Rodriguez took the loss for Samsung. With the win, the heroes inched ahead one game into sole posession of first place. The two teams will play again tomorrow and Thursday.

Park Byung-Ho's 2-run homerun

SK 4 - NC 2, Changwon

Eric Hacker pitched a complete game for NC. He gave up 7 hits and 4 earned runs... all in the first 3 innings. He pitched a no-hitter for the final 6 innings, but unfortunately the Dinos offense couldn't recover from the early setback. On the other side, Chris Seddon pitched 6 innings for SK, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 batters to earn the win.

Doosan 9 - LG 7, Seoul (Jamsil)

The final score seems a lot closer than the game actually was. LG starter Ben Jukich gave up 11 hits and 6 runs in only 3 innings of work, and Doosan built a big lead early on, ahead 7-3 after 4 innings. The Twins attempted one of their now signature late game comebacks, with Oh Ji-Hwan and Lee Dae-Hyung hitting a homerun each in the 8th and 9th innings, but it wouldn't be enough to catch up tonight. Right fielder Kim Jae-Ho was the leader for Doosan, going a perfect 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

KIA 7 - Lotte 2, Busan

Lotte scored first off of a solo homerun by Kim Dae-Woo in the bottom of the 2nd, but the lead would not last long as KIA scored 3 runs of their own in the top of the 3rd, and they held the lead until the end. Kim Jin-Woo earned the win for the Tigers, his 4th win of the season, while Lee Jae-Kon took the loss for Lotte.
