LG 5 - Nexen 3, Seoul (Mokdong) [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

LG shortstop Kwon Yong-Gwan hit an RBI single in the top of the 1st to put the Twins ahead 2-0, a lead the team would hold onto throughout the game. LG scored 2 more in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th to extend the lead to 5-2. Nexen center fielder Lee Taek-Keun hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the 8th, but it wasn't enough for the Heroes to pull off the comeback. LG starter Shin Jung-Rak earned the win after allowing 5 hits and 2 runs in 5 1/3 innings. The loss went to Nexen's Kim Young-Min. With Samsung losing tonight, LG moved into first place in the league standings. It is the first time since July 16, 1997 that LG has been in first place after the All Star break.

SK 8 - Samsung 4, Daegu [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

SK continues their late season surge by knocking off first place Samsung tonight. Samsung held onto an early 1-0 lead heading into the 5th inning, but in the top of the 5th SK managed to score 4 runs off of 2 walks, an error, a double, a triple, and a sacrifice fly. The Wyverns added 4 more in the top of the 8th, including a 2-run homerun from pinch hitter Han Dong-Min. Samsung actually finished the game with more hits than SK (12 - 9), but the Samsung pitching staff gave up a total of 8 walks and the defense committed 3 errors to give SK plenty of baserunners to work with. Chris Seddon got the win for SK while the loss went to Samsung's Cha Woo-Chan. SK has won 8 of their last 10 and is only 3.5 games behind Nexen for the final playoff position. Samsung, on the other hand, has lost 7 of their last 10 and dropped to second place following tonight's loss.

NC 8 - Doosan 6, Seoul (Jamsil) [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

After 3 scoreless innings, NC got on the board in a big way, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 4th including 5 singles, a double and a 3-run homerun from first baseman Cho Yeong-Hun. The Dinos extended the lead to 8-0 by the 7th inning. The Bears did their best to attempt a comeback, scoring 2 runs in each of the final 3 innings, but it wasn't enough. NC starting pitcher Charlie Shirek earned the win after allowing 6 hits and 2 runs in 6 1/3 innings. Doosan starter Derek Hankins had another disappointing start as NC batters hit .455 against him, scoring 6 runs off of 10 hits in 5 innings.

Lotte 4 - Hanwha 0, Daejeon [Box Score] [Video Highlights]

Lotte took the lead at 1-0 in the top of the 4th on an RBI single by center fielder Jeon Jun-Woo. The Giants added 3 more in the top of the 9th to give us the final score of 4-0. Hanwha had very little offense going tonight, finishing the game with just 3 hits. The winning pitcher was Lotte starter Song Seung-Jun who went 7 innings, allowing 3 hits while striking out 8 batters. The loss went to Hanwha's Dana Eveland who pitched reasonably well but got no help at all from his offense. It was Eveland's 11th loss of the season, the highest loss total in the league so far this season.
