Nexen 19 - Hanwha 1, Seoul (Mokdong)

A blowout in Mokdong as Nexen scored 19 runs off of 20 hits and 8 walks. 19 runs is the most scored by any team so far this season. Hanwha starter Dana Eveland gave up 8 runs and 10 hits in 6 innings, earning his third loss of the season. Nexen DH Lee Seong-Yeol was hit by a pitch... twice... in the same inning (8th). It was only the second time in KBO history that the same batter has been hit twice in one inning. The top hitters for Nexen were third baseman Kim Min-Seong (4 for 4, 3 RBIs) and Yoo Han-Joon (3 for 4, 5 RBIs). The series is now tied at 1-1 with the final game tomorrow in Mokdong.

Samsung 8 - Doosan 3, Seoul (Jamsil)

Samsung extended their winning streat two 8 games with a win in a game that played out very similar to the night before, with Samsung taking the lead early, and Doosan scoring a few runs later but not enough for a comeback. Samsung shortstop Kim Sang-Su lead the batters, hitting 2 singles and 1 triple to go 3 for 4 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Starting pitcher Aneury Rodriguez earned the win.

NC 6 - Lotte 4, Busan (Sajik)

NC took the lead in the top of the 1st off of a three-run homerun by DH Lee Ho-Jun. Lotte answered with three of their own in the bottom of the 2nd. And NC followed with an additional three runs in the top of the 3rd. NC held the lead at 6-3 until the bottom of the 6th inning. Lotte pinch hitter Park Jong-Yoon came to the plate with 1 out and runners on second and third. Park hit one deep down the right field line. It appeared to be a homerun which would have tied the game, but the umpire ruled it foul. It's definitely a close call, and after watching the TV replay from mutiple angles I'm still not sure. The ball flies above the foul pole which makes it very difficult to call. Solution: build taller foul poles. See the video below and judge for yourself. Park would end up walking to load the bases, but two pop flies would end the inning with only one run scoring for Lotte. It would be the final run of the game, ending with a score of 6-4.

The controversial foul/homerun call

SK 4 - KIA 3, Gwangju

The game was tied 3-3 and went into extra innings. In the top of the 11th KIA closer Anthony Lerew hit a batter, gave up a single, followed by a walk to load the bases. Song Eun-Beom was called in for relief against his former team. Song proceded to walk the very first batter he faced, giving SK the go-ahead run. KIA put two runners on base in the bottom of the inning, but could not get one across the plate. The game ended with a score of 4-3.
