It was an interesting night around the League last night as all four away teams won, and the bottom three teams each beat a higher ranked team. Here's a quick look at each game.

LG 9 - Samsung 1, Daegu

LG finally got the game they've been looking for from Dominican starting pitcher Radhames Liz,  who pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and one run. It was his first complete game win of his KBO career (he had two prior complete games, both losses). On the offensive side first baseman Moon Seon-Jae led the Twins with a single, a double, and a homerun totalling 3 RBIs for the game. LG earned a desperately needed win against the Lions who were, at the time, the league Leaders. Tonight we'll see if LG's other foreign pitcher, Ben Jukich, can match Liz's performance in the final game of the series.

Hanwha 3 - KIA 1, Gwangju

Hanwha scored three runs early to take the lead at 3-0 after the top of the 4th inning. KIA would score one in the bottom of the 4th on a single by catcher Cha Il-Mok to bring the score to 3-1, but solid bullpen pitching from both teams would see that no more runs would be scored. Denny Bautista earned the win for Hanwha going 6 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 run, while KIA's Yoon Suk-Min picked up the loss after allowing 8 hits and 3 runs in 4 1/3 innings. Perennial cellar dweller Hanwha appears to be on an upswing, having now won 3 of their last 5 games.

Nexen 8 - Doosan 4, Seoul (Jamsil)

The game remained fairly close early on, with Nexen leading 2-1 heading into the top of the 6th? when the Nexen lineup went off against Doosan starting pitcher Dustin Nippert for 5 hits, 1 walk, and 5 runs in the half inning. The big 6th would prove to be all that Nexen needed to hold on for their second win of the series against Doosan. Kim Byung-Hyun earned the win for Nexen while Nippert took the loss for Doosan.

NC 4 - SK 3, Incheon

NC took the early lead on a two-run homerun by Cho Yeong-Hun in the top of the 1st. Teammate Lee Ho-Jun would bring NC's lead to 4-1 with a homerun of his own in the top of the 3rd. SK would score a run each in the 5th and 6th innings, but it wouldn't be enough for a comeback. NC starting pitcher Eric Hacker earned his first win of the season allowing 9 hits and 3 runs in 7 2/3 innings.
